Endoscopy Procedures
- Abdominal Paracentesis – removal of excess fluid from the abdominal cavity
- Bronchoscopy – test to view the airways and diagnose lung disease; may also be used during the treatment of some lung conditions
- Colonoscopy – procedure that uses a colonoscope, a flexible scope with a video camera attached, to detect problems or diseases of the anus, rectum, or large intestine (colon)
- EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy) – an examination of the lining of the esophagus, stomach, and upper duodenum with a small camera, which is inserted down the throat
- ERCP (Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) enables the physician to diagnose problems in the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreas
- Esophageal pH testing – monitors the pH (acidic level) of stomach acid
- Flexible sigmoidoscopy – procedure used to see inside the sigmoid colon and rectum
- Percutaneous liver biopsy
- Polypectomy – removal of colon polyps
- Upper endoscopy
