Case Management

This department is comprised of nurses and social workers who collaborate with other health care providers in ensuring that services which best meet the needs of each patient are timely and available. Staff assists patients and families in exploring options for follow-up care post-hospitalization, including short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term placements. In addition, the department is a resource to the community for information on support groups, health care proxies, and many other health related services. International Travel Medicine

Occupational Health Service (OHS) provides for individualized, destination-specific travel appointments. Appointments are tailored to the individual and take into consideration patients' health status, past vaccination history, travel destination, and length of stay. Detailed educational materials are also provided, and corporate accounts can be arranged for persons traveling abroad for business.

Laboratory

Accredited by the College of American Pathologists, the Laboratory is open weekdays from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Medical Library

Medical Records

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists work with patients of all ages to facilitate or improve the level of function that will encourage independence. Orthopedic injuries, neurological illnesses, and general medical conditions are examples of conditions treated by an occupational therapist. Parkinson's Program

Physical Therapy

Physical therapists work with people of all ages who have musculo-skeletal, orthopedic, and neurological disorders to improve function and decrease discomfort. Evaluation and treatment programs are provided upon referral from a physician. For more information, please call 508-236-7380.

A "Sturdy Spine": This program for patients with neck and/or back pain, run by Sturdy Memorial's Physical Therapy Department, combines targeted stretching and exercise with individual assessment and goal setting to decrease pain and improve function. Speech Therapy

Certified Speech-Language Pathologists provide a full range of therapy services to patients of all ages. We treat individuals with swallowing difficulties, including the inability to complete Modified Barium Swallowing Studies. TBChestClinic

Sturdy Memorial Hospital operates a state-sponsored free TB Chest Clinic, providing diagnostic and treatment services to Massachusetts residents who are:

  • Diagnosed/ suspected of having TB disease
  • Diagnosed/ suspected of having latent TB infection
  • In contact with persons with active TB disease
  • In need of treatment for old TB disease

Services do not include routine or initial TB skin testing. The clinic is located in Occupational Health services and is open the first Tuesday of every month from 5pm - 7pm. Wellness Program
