Infectious Disease

Infectious disease is illness resulting from an infection. Infectious diseases can be caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, or fungi and spread directly or indirectly, from one person to another. Our infectious disease physicians and staff are highly qualified, and maintain their skills and knowledge of the latest medical techniques and equipment through ongoing training and education. Dr. Antonella Fine, Physician Director of Hospital Infection Control for Sturdy Memorial Hospital, treats patients on both and inpatient and outpatient basis. Areas of practice include general infectious diseases, hospital-acquired infections, infection control, antimicrobial stewardship, and HIV primary care.
